Training at Zone Centres

The objectives of the zone centres are as follows:

  • to offer training in table tennis for the young with potential
  • to broaden the base of competitive players
  • to carry out a 'feeder scheme' for outstanding members to be infused into the National Youth Squads

The training schedule listed below is only a guide, STTA reserves the right to alter the training schedule.

To join, kindly take note of the following:

  • The above training is meant for young children aged between 5 to 9 years old.
  • Approach the coach at any of the centres during the specific training times.
  • The player may be required to meet the assessment criteria as determined by the coach.
  • If the player is successful, the coach will hand him/her an application form for completion.
  • If selected, the player is expected to attend training four times a week.
  • The monthly participation fee is $100.
  • New trainees are put on an initial training program for 3 months. At the end of the 3 months training, an assessment will be made on their potential/playing ability and whether to retain the player in the zone centre.
  • STTA reserves to right to discontinue any trainee's training.
